Day 1: Zanzibar – Serengeti National Park

You will fly from Zanzibar Airport at 7:35 a.m. and arrive in Serengeti at 10:50 a.m. On arrival at Seronera Airstrip, you will meet your professional and well-experienced local English-speaking safari driver guide.

After greetings, he will give you a short pre-safari briefing and then embark on a game drive in Serengeti National Park for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. The Serengeti is one of the largest parks in Africa at 15,000 sq km. It is home to some three million large mammals and is made up of a diversity of landscapes.

The southern region is dominated by the lush grassy plains that draw about two million wildebeest, half a million zebra, and some quarter million antelope to make the hazardous journey in search of pasture when the autumn rains come.

Lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay will be at Four Seasons Safari Lodge – Horizon Waterhole View Room.

Day 2: Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

The Great Migration (also referred to as “Serengeti Migration”) is arguably the greatest wildlife show on earth. It is the largest single movement of wildlife on earth in search of water, pasture, and breeding grounds.

Other than the great migrating herds you seek, you may also see cheetahs, lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, wildebeests, hartebeests, topis, elands, crocs, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, amongst many more. With over five hundred bird species identified, the park is a veritable ornithological paradise, ostrich abound, secretary bird, marabou stork, and the largest flighted bird on Earth, the kori bustard.

You will seek out these creatures with the keen intuition and experience of your “wild guide” and, with the day drawing to a close, you will wend your way to your lodge to unwind, dine, and take your ease by the fire under the endless East African sky.

Day 3: Serengeti – Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

07:00hrs Meet at your lodge in Arusha, and after a short pre-safari briefing start your adventure. You will drive to Tarangire National Park, passing through Arusha city for any last-minute necessities or currency exchange. The route takes you across the Masai steppe and past numerous villages before reaching the park gate. After registering at the gate, your first safari game drive in the African wilderness begins.

Tarangire Park is renowned for its towering baobab trees and substantial elephant population. Its diverse habitats support a wide array of animals and bird species, including the rare Great Kudu, Fringed-Eared Oryx, and Ash Staling. Expect to encounter lions, cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, gazelles, dik-diks, the rare long-necked gerenuks, and more. In the late afternoon, you will proceed to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire – Ndutu Plains/Southern Serengeti

After breakfast depart for the Ndutu plains to experience the Wildebeest Migration calving safari in the Southern Serengeti. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at the Lake Manyara viewpoint for a breathtaking sunset and restroom break.

The scenic drive takes you through the picturesque high farmland of Karatu and several villages. You will make a brief stop at the Loduare Main Gate for entry into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continuing your journey, you will reach the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint, where you can capture stunning photos and admire the crater floor from the rim. The drive then takes you further to the Lake Ndutu area, where the action unfolds from December to March.

Enjoy a packed lunch at one of the picnic sites, and then set out for your afternoon game drive, seeking out big cats, massive herds of wildebeest, and thrilling wildlife encounters. In the late afternoon head to Tanzania Bush Camp for dinner and overnight stay. There are other camp options available based on your budget and preferences.

Day 3 & 4: Full Day Ndutu Plains Calving Safari

Spend entire 2 days exploring the Ndutu plains within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It is in this area, between January and March, that the wildebeest gives birth to thousands of calves. The lush green pastures and nutrient-rich soil attract herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, stretching across vast areas.

Additionally, you will have a unique opportunity to witness predators in action as they attempt to prey on the vulnerable newborn foals. You can also opt for a walking safari with an armed ranger, which offers a close encounter with wildlife while listening to informative lectures by trained naturalists and rangers. 

Bird enthusiasts will delight in Ndutu, with over 400 recorded resident and migratory bird species. In the late afternoon, return to your camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Ndutu -Central Serengeti National Park

A visit to central Serengeti National Park around Seronera River is a must.

Seronera River is one of the park’s permanent water sources, which becomes particularly vital during the dry season. Along the river and kopjes, you can spot many bird species, big cats, and other wildlife. Consider visiting Seronera Visitor Center for a brief immersion in the Great Serengeti National Park. Later in the afternoon, drive to Tanzania Bush Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Ngorongoro Highland

On this day, your Wildebeest Migration Calving Safari package takes you to the Ngorongoro Crater. After an early breakfast, collect picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. After passing through the Naabi Hills Gate and reaching Seneto Gate, you will descend over 600 meters down the crater walls, arriving on the crater floor for a thrilling game drive.

The Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder formed millions of years ago by geological forces, features an astonishing concentration of wildlife within its approximately 29-kilometer diameter. Supported by year-round water sources, the crater is estimated to host over 20,000 animals, offering exceptional opportunities to spot the Big Five, including the elusive black rhinos and leopards. You can also expect to encounter lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, eland, African elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and hippos at their pool in the middle of the crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Highland – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast collect picnic lunch and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for morning game drive.

This is one of the most diverse of Tanzania’s national parks, a tiny (325km2) combination of Rift valley lake, dense woodlands and steep mountainside. Manyara is a birding paradise (more than 380 species), especially for waterfowl and migrants and the forests are one of the best places around to see leopards. Lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake.

Most visitors tailor a visit to Manyara to fit in with a trip to one of the Big Three parks (Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro).
Late afternoon drive back to Arusha and drop-off at your hotel at around 17:00hrs or transferred to Airport for your outbound flight.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning our safari Manager will meet you at your lodge for a short pre-tour briefing. Then you will meet your driver guide, collect picnic lunch and embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, and diverse birdlife.

Enjoy thrilling game drives throughout the day, capturing unforgettable moments as you observe lions, giraffes, wildebeests, and other remarkable creatures.

Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

Today the journey proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its stunning alkaline lake and a variety of wildlife.

The park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions and pink-hued flamingos that adorn the lakeshore. Explore the park during a morning game drive and savor a picnic lunch amidst the serene surroundings.

Day 3: Ngorongoro- Serengeti National Park

After early breakfast at the lodge, descend into the crater for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive eco-system. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of the conservation area.

These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view Black Rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor.
Another big draw card to this Picturesque Caldera, is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, Serval cat as well as the African wild cat which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.

Picnic lunch will be served at the crater floor, followed by another game viewing visiting the hippo pool near the Mandusi Swamp, Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater, the Lerai forest as well as other parts of the crater. Then drive out to “Wild rich” The Serengeti National Park.

Day 4: Explore Central Serengeti National Park

Today we are taking you for full day game drive in the Serengeti. You will start as early as 06:30 with packed breakfast box and lunch box. Early morning game drive allows you to spot the cat family on the road as they try to avoid the morning mist, you may also see nocturnal animals coming back from their long night of hunting or a group of lioness organizing an ambush or eating along the road.
Break for breakfast in the bush then you will be heading to where the Wildebeest migration is located.

Spend much time watching the migration of herds, the big cats and others (picnic lunch will be served in the bush or in one of the picnic site in the area).

You may expect to see a lot of animal actions like hunting, killing, fighting & so on. Drive back to the camp during or before the sunset for dinner & overnight stay at-Tanzania Bush Camp Central.

Day 5: Explore Northern Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Northern Serengeti with game viewing en route. You will visit the Lobo valley and kopjes as well as the Bologonja area before getting to Kogatende. In the afternoon break for lunch, and later you will proceed with game viewing at the northern Serengeti Kopjes and the Mara River.

The northern Serengeti is home to a huge number of resident animals including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo and many more. Late afternoon you will drive to your camp for dinner and overnight – Tanzania Bush Camps Mara River.

Day 6: Explore Northern Serengeti National Park

After early breakfast enjoy early morning and late afternoon game viewing at Mara River areas. You will depart from the camp at first light with a picnic breakfast for a big day in search of the biggest herds of the great migrations. You will drive through the Mara River in the golden light of dawn looking for special photographic opportunities of wildebeest and Zebras taking the cold plunge to cross the glittering waters of the Mara River as well as other wildlife interactions.

Witnessing the river crossing needs patience as the herd will often take hours to decide whether or not to cross, weighing the risk of crocodiles and the strength of the rivers current.

A good place to enjoy your picnic breakfast today is along the Mara River. You will later drive back to your camp for hot lunch and a little leisure at the camp in the middle of the day. Late afternoon game viewing in search for different wildlife interactions around Mara River. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay – Tanzania Bush Camps Mara River.

Day 7: Schedule flight from Serengeti to Arusha Airport

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip, bid farewell to the Serengeti’s untamed wilderness as you board a scenic flight back to Arusha.

Day 1:Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, followed by game drive in the park with picnic lunch.

Tarangire National Park (2,600km2) has unrivalled landscape of open plains, dotted with thousands of baobabs. It is located about 120kms south of Arusha. Tarangire is known for its lions and very big herds of buffalo. This is one of Africa’s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. The animals includes zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, Maasai giraffe and fringe-eared oryx (gemsbok). Predators include lion, cheetah and leopard. Birders will want to look out for the endemic ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver and black-collared lovebird.
