Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife – inside a self-contained world, teeming with animals. The Tarangire national park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Meet our professional tours guide/driver in Arusha Airport and drive to the Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. 

Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Dinner and overnight: Luxury or Mid-range accommodation.

Day 2: Farms of Dream – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a morning, half-day game drive to experience this dream safari. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. 

Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, proceeding with a game drive till the late evening. Dinner and overnight: Luxury or Mid-range accommodation.   

Day 3: Cultural Experience with Hadzape Bushmen at Lake Eyasi and the Maasai tribe

Early morning breakfast then embark to have dream experience while visiting Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. The Tanzania’s remarkable residents don’t just come on four legs. Indigenous hunter-gatherer tribesstill exist in East Africa (just) and you’ll enjoy a full days of memorable cultural immersion. The nimble Hadzabe Bushmen sidestep through the trees, picking up on every clue as they stalk a small antelope. 

You can also see the clues; an upturned stone, a line of animal droppings, a slight in dent in the grass. But the bushman spots them without breaking stride, eyes always scanning ahead, the path of the prey continually visualized. On day eight you’ll head out on a morning hunt, a haunting experience that reveals the phenomenal skills of these ancient people. 

And yes, they do still use a homemade bow and arrow.This is a place of tranquility, harmony, and getting involved with local tribes. The Hadzabe hunter-gatherers use an ancient click dialect, while the wa Datonga villages remain unchanged for millennia. Immerse yourself in authentic Maasai culture; as you visit a traditional village, accompanied by an English-speaking guide who lives there himself. 

Find yourself in the midst of the daily hustle and bustle of local life as you witness the daily rituals of the Maasai. Once you have drunk your fill of this authentic cultural experience, you can choose to browse through the Maasai Craft Centre and purchase art crafts made by the people you encountered. All proceeds from this go directly to the community. Living a semi-nomadic lifestyle, the Maasai tribe has modernized in some ways but still adheres to many aspects of their traditional culture. 

Established as fierce warriors, their lively cultural dance, vibrant clothing and beautifully crafted handiwork are recognized worldwide. The Maasai used to move nomadically with their herds to abundant lush pastures but these days they have built permanent huts or bomas and prefer to stay in one place. They are pastoralists cattle is essential to their way of life. A man’s success is measured by the number of cattle and offspring he has. 

As great a status and show of wealth the cattle are, they are also a vital food source. This glimpse of authentic Maasai culture is a fascinating and dream experience of an ancient way of life that still flourishes today. In the late afternoon you will be transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
